A LITTLE BIT ABOUT ME
AND WHAT I'M TRYING TO DO HERE

My name is Paul McCormack Cooney and I'm the father of a ten year old girl and a seven year old boy. 

I love my kids to bits but their future is in serious trouble.

I promise you that I have no great notions about myself. I'm a very ordinary guy. 

I enjoy drinking beers with friends, playing sport, watching movies and reading a good book. I'd much prefer to be doing all that stuff instead of worrying about climate change. 

There is no longer any scientific doubt however. Our planet is warming dangerously fast, and we have very little time left to do anything about it. I am seriously concerned, and you should be too. 

The good news is that we do have time, if we act fast!

Climate change affects everything - farming, forestry, transport, energy, etc., it can be difficult to follow what's going on and there's a lot of jargon to get through. This blog is an attempt to communicate what I've learned from the past two years of petitioning my local TDs and MEPs, speaking to numerous climate scientists and NGOs, and protesting with the climate activist group Extinction Rebellion.
